About the meeting
This will not be an ordinary lecture. Ruslan Bortnyk will first present a comprehensive scenario-based forecast for the next six months. After that, participants will be able to ask their own questions personally or via chat and discuss alternative scenarios for how events may unfold.
The autumn and winter of 2026–2027 may bring together military escalation, new diplomatic initiatives, changes in the policies of Ukraine's key partners, and growing domestic economic and social challenges.
Ruslan Bortnyk will explain how he personally plans to get through the winter, answer participants' questions, and share confidential insights from inside the political system.
We will examine how businesses, civilians, military personnel, families with children, and Ukrainians currently living abroad should prepare for possible autumn and winter scenarios.
We will discuss which behavioral strategies may prove the most rational under conditions of uncertainty: what makes sense to do now, which decisions should not be postponed, where it is important to remain flexible, and where, on the contrary, hasty decisions should be avoided.
Every participant will be able to ask Ruslan Bortnyk a question personally or submit it via chat, receive his assessment of the situation, and propose an alternative scenario for discussion.
This will be a closed conversation about where Ukraine actually stands at the beginning of autumn 2026, what threats and opportunities lie ahead, and what political reality and security situation we may face by spring 2027.
The author and host of the meeting is Ruslan Bortnyk, political scientist and Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Politics.
The meeting will take place live only. There will be no recording or subsequent publication: everything said and discussed will remain within the group of participants.
